After several long months and a dramatic production move to print many of our titles in Europe, we will finally be able to begin fulfillment on pre-orders for two highly anticipated new Hat & Beard Press titles: My Week Beats Your Year: Encounters with Lou Reed and SF Eyes, a two-decade retrospective on the street photography mag Hamburger Eyes. Shipments will begin in March.

Along with the books’ official releases, we’re preparing for several upcoming related special events, including the debut of Hamburger Eyes, a new Hat & Beard-Films documentary produced with Mailchimp Studios, directed by Aaron Rose and produced by Lucy Rose, on the seminal street photography magazine of the same name. The doc will have its premiere at The Roxie in San Francisco on 2/27. Additional screenings in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York to follow. We have several new titles slated for release this Spring and Summer, as well, including a Big Ears Festival 10-year anniversary book in the form of a five-year deep dive into the photography of Santa Fe-based photographer Kate Joyce (ready to ship in April); the limited-edition book/Blu-Ray set for the Nick Ebeling film Along for the Ride (out in May); the long-awaited definitive Manny Farber book that joins his art and film career into one title (also out in May, with some programming at the Metrograph); and finally, the forthcoming second H&B book by photographer David Black (stay tuned to our socials for more details on when it will drop).

As usual, we’ll be making the rounds at various festivals throughout the year, beginning with an appearance from Feb. 13-17th at Frieze in the Acid-Free booth, and at the LA Art Book Fair at The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA in April.
