We wrapped up the month of March with a big salute to The Velvet Underground and Lou Reed.

On Friday, March 29th, we launched our latest books, The Velvet Underground Experience and My Week Beats Your Year: Encounters with Lou Reed, at the Saatchi Gallery pop up in L.A.

With British pop artist Philip Colbert’s work as a colorful backdrop, The Musical Tracing Ensemble, a 15-member group fronted by LA Takedown’s Aaron Olson, played tribute to The Velvet Underground with an orchestral 45-minute set. Later Ian Svenonius, playing as Escape-Ism with Alexandra Cabral, performed his own rousing show in celebration of the band and the man's 55-year legacy. 

The whole night came together beautifully with the indispensable talent of Gemma Lacey, the generous support of Unit London, Saatchi Gallery, and Lagunitas Beer.
